Locality – Geography & Scale

People do congregate in settings where they can congregate with similar people in person, which demands a certain scale of population in a local geographical region. However, the more people there are online the more congregation is also enabled online, and hence the less local geography and scale matters, but it still does matter (a lot). It's difficult to evaluate other people without being able to see, hear and smell them. And it's still just nice to meet (in person) occasionally, that isn't easy when others are 2,000km away.
